Ibrahim Tanko to handle Black Meteors

An Assistant Black Stars Coach, Ibrahim Tanko, has been given an additional duty to handle the national U-23 men’s soccer team, the Black Meteors. This follows the death of Yusif Abubakar on Tuesday, November 20. Tanko will continue to be part of the Stars’ Technical Team but has been appointed to prepare the Meteors for their upcoming qualifiers. Ghana’s Olympic team is preparing for home-and-away first round qualifiers with Togo ahead of next year’s Africa U-23 Cup of Nations to be held in Egypt. The first leg will be played in Kumasi on Tuesday, December 18 with the second leg scheduled for Lome on Saturday, December 22. The winner will play Gabon in the second round of qualifiers.
