Hearts of Oak midfielder Ibrahim Salifu has been named as May’s Ghana Premier League player of the month.

The 21-year-old scored one goal and won two man of the match awards in five games as Hearts of Oak moved to the summit of the table.

He will receive a NASCO Television set and a personalized trophy.

Salifu’s coach has also been named coach of the month, making it a double victory for the Phobians, who are still in celebratory mood after taking a giant step towards their first league title in 12 years.

They beat Kotoko 1-0 courtesy of a second-half strike by Daniel Barnieh to open up a three-point lead over their arch-rivals.

Sunday’s victory means Hearts will win the league if they win their next two games against Ebusua Dwarfs and Liberty Professionals.
