Hasaacas Ladies present trophies to EKMA

The playing body and management of Hasaacas Ladies Football Club on Tuesday, August 31 visited and presented the club’s trophies to the Municipal Chief Executive of Effia Kwesimintsim, Kojo Acquah.

Hasaacas Ladies won the just ended WAFU Zone B tournament recently held in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire and the Women’s FA Cup as well as the Women’s Premier League.

Led by management and captain, Janet Adjei, the club thanked the Assembly for coming to its aid financially and in prayers in the time of need ahead of preparations for the West African Football Union (WAFU) tournament.

They said the feats chalked can only urge them on to bring more glory to Ghana in November, when the maiden CAF Women’s Champions League tournament is held in Egypt.

Acting MCE of Effia Kwesimintsim Kojo Acquah, who received the team, took turns to welcome and congratulate them for their enviable achievement.

Kojo Acquah praised the zeal and passion they exhibited on the field of play.

Showing his zeal for women’s football, he urged them to go and fulfill their dream in Egypt come November, promising to reward them if they are able to bring the glory home.

He assured them that the doors of EKMA remain open and encouraged them to work hard and strive to win the ultimate at the continental edition.

Former CEO of Sekondi Hassacas Ofori Acquah, after receiving a cash reward from the MCE, shared his excitement seeing the newly crowned WAFU Zone B Champions.

“I’m happy to see the trophies here.”

He urged the ladies to go and make Effia-Kwesimintsim and the entire nation proud.

“I know even in the CAF Women’s Champions League come November, you will excel,” he added.
