Ghana have been drawn against Cote d’Ivoire in the 2018 WAFU tournament in a tricky group that could prove a banana peel for the Black Queens. Also in the group are Niger and Burkina Faso who will battle it out for the two top spots. The two will progress to the semi-final of the competition to be hosted in Ghana. In Group B, West African powerhouses, Nigeria’s Super Falcons, will have the opportunity to bond ahead of the 2018 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations as they are housed with Togo, Senegal and Benin. Ghana will host the 2018 continental tournament and the Queens will hope to use this tournament as part of the team’s preparation. The 2018 women’s WAFU will begin on Wednesday, February 14 and end on Saturday, February 24.
