Former Great Olympics coach Annor Walker reveals players still seek his advice

Coach Annor Walker has revealed that players of his former club Great Olympics continue to seek advice from him due to the relationship he had with them during his days at the club.

The veteran coach after leading the Oly Dade lads to a fifth-place finish last season, departed the club to join new boys Samartex at the beginning of the campaign.

Since his exit from the Accra based-club, they have struggled to maintain their previous form as Yaw Preko who took over got dismissed after a run of poor outcomes.

Bismarck Kobi Mensah took charge later but has equally struggled to find form as the team currently sits 14th with just a point above the danger zone.

Annor Walker who claims to pose as a father anywhere he works disclosed to GPL Xpress on TV3 that, his former players, in the midst of the struggles call him for advice.

According to him, it has been so with all his former clubs including Nania FC and Berekum Chelsea.

“In any team that I coach, players see me as their father because of the way I relate to them. I advise them on what to do as footballers and on their future.

“At Nania, it was the same thing. The boys saw me as their father and anytime they played they felt they had to play for me.

“It was similar with Berekum Chelsea and of course in Accra, it was evident with Great Olympics. All the players as of today call me to seek advice. Some call to ask of what they are supposed to do following their struggles.”
