Thomas Partey showered praise on his Arsenal teammate Kai Havertz following the German’s stellar performance against Chelsea.

In the electrifying London derby clash at the Emirates, Havertz delivered a dazzling display against his former club, contributing significantly to Arsenal’s resounding 5-0 victory, which extended their lead at the top of the table.

The 24-year-old found the back of the net in the 57th minute, further solidifying Arsenal’s dominance with a 3-0 lead. Just eight minutes later, he struck again, before Ben White with his second of the night sealed Arsenal’s triumph and handed Chelsea their most significant defeat of the season thus far.

Partey, impressed by Havertz’s contribution, lauded the midfielder for his exceptional recent form, highlighting his vital role in Arsenal’s recent successes.

“He’s a great player, he’s working a lot and you can see the work he’s doing. He deserves everything that comes along. I hope he can continue like that and finish the season strongly,” Partey stated as quoted by Arsenal.com.

Havertz made a high-profile move to Chelsea’s city rivals last summer for a hefty sum of £67.5 million. Despite initially struggling to find his form at the beginning of the season, his brace against his former team has boosted his tally to 11 Premier League goals in 33 matches.

With this latest victory, Arsenal now sit three points ahead of Liverpool in the league standings. Liverpool face Everton in the Merseyside derby on Wednesday, with Everton currently embroiled in a battle for survival after being docked eight points for financial breaches.

Meanwhile, Manchester City, currently positioned third, have two outstanding games in hand. If they secure victories in both matches, they will claim the top spot in the league standings.
