‘This is my type of goal’ – Asamoah Gyan applauds Mabululu’s sensational curler in Angola win

In a thrilling match in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), Angola secured a resounding 3-0 victory over Namibia in the round of 16, captivating football fans worldwide.

However, it was Mabululu’s exquisite curler that stole the spotlight, earning praise from African football legend Asamoah Gyan.

The Palancas Negras dominated the Brave Warriors, with Mabululu’s brilliant goal becoming a talking point on social media. The 31-year-old forward showcased exceptional technique as he found himself at the end of a counter-attack, curling the ball from a tight angle into the far corner, leaving the goalkeeper helpless.

Expressing his excitement on Twitter, Gyan, who retired from professional football last year, lauded Mabululu’s goal, stating, “This is my type of goals. There have been great goals in the tournament, but this goal is my best goal. Look at how he was able to twist and manage to score from that angle. I’m loving it. Great goal by all standards.”

With this victory, Angola advance to the quarter-finals, where they are set to face Nigeria. The encounter promises to be a thrilling match, as both teams aim to secure a spot in the later stages of the prestigious tournament.

Nigeria secured their place in the quarter-finals by triumphing over Cameroon with a 2-0 victory, thanks to Ademola Lookman’s double.

Football enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the clash between Angola and Nigeria, anticipating more extraordinary moments on the road to Africa Cup of Nations glory.
