In a bid to address the challenges facing Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Team Owner and Life Patron of the club, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has thrown his support behind under-fire coach Prosper Ogum.
Following an emergency meeting convened by the King to resolve internal issues within the club, Ogum has been retained as head coach.
The meeting, held on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at the Manhyia Palace, brought together key stakeholders of the club to discuss the recent poor run of results and chart a path forward.
Otumfuo charged both the technical team led by Coach Ogum and the playing body to resolve their issues and work towards team unity and harmony.

Expressing his directives, Otumfuo emphasised the importance of resolving all outstanding issues to improve team performance. Prosper Ogum has been tasked with addressing any grievances within the team to foster a cohesive environment conducive to success.

Despite Asante Kotoko’s dismal form, with only one win and a draw in their last ten games, Otumfuo remains hopeful that with unity and determination, the club can overcome its challenges.
He has pledged his personal intervention if the team’s poor run continues, underscoring his commitment to the club’s success.
The next hurdle for Asante Kotoko is a crucial fixture against league leaders FC Samartex.
