Prince Adu Names Suarez and Gyan as His Footballing Role Models

In the world of football, young players often look to established stars for inspiration and guidance.

For Viktoria Plzeň’s Ghanaian striker Prince Kwabena Adu, two prolific goal-scorers have shaped his development and playing style: Uruguay’s Luis Suarez and Ghana’s own Asamoah Gyan.

In an interview with Flashscore, Adu opened up about how these two footballing icons have influenced his career and approach to the game.

“Growing up I watched Luis Suarez and Asamoah Gyan. You know Gyan is a Ghanaian legend who did a lot for our national team,” Adu revealed.

“My style is very similar to Luis Suarez so I watch his videos a lot. The way Suarez scores, runs, his movement, with and without the ball, and off the pitch. I like everything about him and really learn a lot from him,” he added.

For the 21-year-old Ghanaian forward, who has been making waves in European football with Czech side Plzeň, studying Suarez’s game has been a part of him since childhood.

“The way he plays and gives his all is the reason why he succeeds everywhere he goes. Growing up I loved watching him and I even still watch him in the MLS.”

Adu has scored 10 goals in 28 appearances in all competitions this season and is set to face Lazio in the round of 16 stage of the Europa League.
