Pogba faces career crisis as he’s hit with four-year ban

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been handed a four-year ban due to doping violations.

This comes after his failed drug test in September 2023, where his initial sample showed DHEA was found in his system, which can increase testosterone levels.

His B sample also returned a positive result in October 2023.

The 30-year-old was randomly tested after Juventus’ game against Udinese last August, where he was an unused substitute.

However, his defence team’s argument that the substance was taken accidentally was reportedly not believed by the prosecution.

This ban could potentially mark the end of Pogba’s illustrious career, as he turns 31 next month.

He previously played for Manchester United, making 226 appearances and winning the Carabao Cup and Europa League.

After rejoining Juventus in 2022, he has only played 12 games across two seasons.

Pogba was a key member of the France squad that won the 2018 World Cup in Russia but missed out on the 2022 tournament in Qatar, where France reached the final and lost to Argentina on penalties, due to injury.
