World Cup winner Paul Pogba could make a return to football soon, after completing his  18-month doping ban.

Pogba tested positive for doping in September 2023 and was subsequently handed a four-year ban.

However, after a successful appeal at the Court of Abitration for Sports (CAS), Pogba’s ban was reduced to 18 months.

Today, March 11, marks the end of the ban, with the former Manchester United midfielder available as a free agent.

Following his positive doping test, Pogba’s contract with Juventus was terminated on November 15, rendering the 31-year-old  club-less.

However, with his imminent return to football, the French man has been linked with a number of clubs, not less his former side Manchester United.

Pogba was reportedly in contact with Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim for a potential third spell with the club.

Talks on that have gone quiet in recent weeks, with Manchester City the latest club to be linked with the midfielder.

City’s interest comes at a time where the club is enduring a difficult spell under Pep Guardiola, looking to overhaul and rebuild in the summer.

Pogba’s United connections make  Manchester City a no-go destination, with the Major League Soccer (MLS) his only plausible option.

His appearances in recent weeks at MLS games, have only amplified speculations about his growing interest to feature in the league.

David Beckham’s Inter Miami are the favourites to land the midfielder.
