PHOTOS: Black Queens suffer shock defeat to Zambia in Olympic qualifier

Ghana’s Black Queens suffered a surprise 1-0 loss to Zambia in the first leg of their Paris 2024 Olympic Games qualifier on Friday.

The team faces an uphill battle in the second leg on Wednesday, February 28, as they attempt to overcome the deficit and secure progression to the final qualifying round.

Zambia’s star player, Racheal Kundananji, scored the winning goal in the 18th minute, and her team held on for a historic victory.

The win gives Zambia control of the tie, making it difficult for Ghana to progress.

Ghana’s objective is to reach the Olympic Games for the first time, but this result has put their qualification hopes in jeopardy. The winner of this tie will face either Tunisia or Morocco in the final qualifying round.

Our cameras captured the action from Friday’s match, so take a look at the photos below.
