Nsoatreman owner, two others granted bail in Kotoko fan’s death case

Former Minister of Employment and Labour Relations and owner of Nsoatreman F.C., Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, along with Agyemang Duah Owusu and Kyeremeh Joseph, has been granted bail in connection with the death of Kotoko fan Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Pooley.

The three were arrested on Monday following a violent altercation at Nana Konamansah Park in Nsoatre, which led to Pooley’s fatal stabbing on February 2, 2025.

After appearing in court today, February 4, they were granted bail but are required to reappear on February 17.

A police search at Agyemang Duah Owusu’s residence uncovered suspected bloodstained clothing and a firearm, intensifying investigations.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has suspended Nsoatreman’s home venue and launched a probe into the incident.

The case has sparked widespread condemnation, with increasing calls for tougher measures to curb hooliganism in Ghanaian football.
