Maxwell Konadu reveals motivation behind joining Nsoatreman

Nsoatreman FC coach Maxwell Konadu has stated that his belief in his own abilities to transform the club was the key reason he accepted the role, despite Nsoatreman’s relative obscurity in the top flight.

The club, after its debut season in the Ghana Premier League, finished 13th. However, they aimed higher by appointing the experienced Konadu, who had previously helped Legon Cities avoid relegation.

In his first season with Nsoatreman, the former Black Stars assistant coach led the team to FA Cup glory, defeating their regional rivals Bofoakwa Tano on Sunday.

Nsoatreman FC triumphed over Bofoakwa Tano 5-4 in a penalty shootout after extra time. The match ended 1-1, with Richard Dzikoe scoring for Bofoakwa in the 22nd minute and Sadat Mohammed equalizing in the 79th minute after Tano goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi mishandled Mohammed’s speculative shot.

Following their victory, Konadu emphasised that his confidence in his ability to help the club excel motivated him to accept the job.

“For sure, I knew that I could transform the team because I know what I have, and when you believe in yourself, I think it’s the beginning of everything,” Konadu stated. “The self-belief did a lot. It motivated me to sign the contract for Nsoatreman.”

With their FA Cup win, Nsoatreman FC will represent Ghana in next season’s CAF Confederation Cup. The club aims to build on the success of Dreams FC, who reached the semi-finals in their debut season in the competition.

Nsoatreman’s remarkable achievement under Konadu’s guidance signals a promising future for the club as they prepare to compete on the continental stage.
