Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has slammed the performance of his team in their defeat against Crystal Palace labelling it as ‘rubbish’

Liverpool’s title hopes were dealt huge blow as they lost to Crystal Palace at Anfield, their first home defeat in the League this season.

After dropping points against Manchester United that saw them surrender their lead to Arsenal, the 19-time champions were looking to bounce back and eject some steam into their title charge.

However, Crystal Palace had different ideas; taking the lead with just over a quarter of the game played and holding on for a memorable win at Anfield.

Liverpool had chances to score and talking about his team’s missed chances after the game, Klopp lamaneted the atrocious display of the team.

“So here we stand, lost the game played really, really, rubbish need now a bit of time to process that because it is a really bad moment it is the second home game in a row we lose and we’re not used to that we have to see how we work on that, we have work on that definitely, we will do that,” he said

Klopp was also left to rue about his team’s missed chances during the game and was quick to voice out his displeasure.

“The Darwin chance he mishits it slightly there’s no chance for the goalie, similar with Diogo, MO’s chance, that’s just horrendous but again we didn’t score there and we had more moments,” he further stated.

The defeat means, Liverpool have now lost back-to-back home games following their 3-0 defeat to Atalanta in the Europa League last Thursday

Having been at the top of the table a week ago, and now having dropped five points, Klopp will be making sure his team do not lose focus in the title race in subsequent games.
