Liverpool have announced the hiring of Arne Slot as the club’s new manager, effective June 1, pending acquisition of a work permit.
Liverpool reached a £9.4m compensation agreement with Feyenoord in April, solidifying Slot’s transition to Anfield.
Jurgen Klopp stepped down as Liverpool manager following their victory over Wolves in May, ending his seven-and-a-half-year tenure.
Under Klopp’s leadership, Liverpool secured multiple accolades, including the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, and Premier League titles.
We can announce Arne Slot has agreed a deal to become the club’s new head coach, formally taking up the position on June 1, 2024, subject to a work permit 🙌

During the 2022-23 season, Slot led Feyenoord to the Eredivisie championship, capturing the Dutch Cup and finishing runner-up in the league this season.
Renowned for his offensive tactics, engaging persona, and knack for fostering player growth, Slot became Liverpool’s preferred candidate for the vacancy.
Initially joining Feyenoord in 2021, Slot voiced his desire to manage in the Premier League amidst rumours linking him to Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.
Prior to moving to Feyenoord, Slot held the position of AZ Alkmaar head coach, and he had led them to second place in the table, trailing leaders Ajax only on goal difference, when the Dutch season was cancelled due to COVID-19 in 2019-20.
During his playing career, he operated primarily as a midfielder, turning out for FC Zwolle, NAC Breda, Sparta Rotterdam and PEC Zwolle before hanging up his boots in 2013.
He will now soon become the first head coach of Liverpool FC from the Netherlands – with his first pre-season in charge of the squad set to get under way in July.
