Letsile Tebogo visits Stamford Bridge for Premier League clash

Olympic 200m gold medallist, Letsile Tebogo, turned up at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea’s Premier League home tie against Southampton on Tuesday night.

The sprinter was seen soaking in the atmosphere at the ground before kick off, simultaneously posing for pictures and videos.

Tebogo was then spotted holding up a customised Chelsea kit with his name inscribed behind, just above the number ’80.’

A long-time Chelsea fan, Tebogo has openly professed his love for football and Chelsea.

After easing his way to victory in a Diamond League meet after the Olympic Games, Tebogo revealed his plans for the vacation, admitting a Chelsea live game was on top of his agenda.

“Definitely [I’ll go and watch Chelsea]. My manager is happy. Definitely, I’ll try and squeeze something in there, he told Joy Sports’ Journalist Fentuo Tahiru.

True to his word, Tebogo – who etched his name in track and field folklore by becoming the first Botswanan to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games, and the fastest African 200m sprinter ever with a 19.49s finish in the summer’s event – was all smiles as Chelsea thumped Southampton 4-0.

Meanwhile, the 21-year-old sprinter has recently been dominating the headlines after he single-handedly rescued some citizens of Botswana from torrential rains and flood that hit the country.

The Olympic gold and silver medalist was seen pulling out individuals who were getting submerged under the flood.

Tebogo will be hoping to build upon his impressive 2024, when the 2025 outdoor season commences.
