Emmanuel Antwi has spoken of his joy after completing his move to Asante Kotoko, calling it a dream come true.
The midfielder joins the Porcupine Warriors on a three-year contract after leaving Great Olympics.
In an interview with Kotoko’s media team, Antwi expressed his excitement to wear the Kotoko jersey and contribute to the team’s success. He also highlighted the presence of familiar faces that will ease his transition into the squad.
“I am thrilled to be here as it has been a childhood dream of mine to play for Kotoko,” Antwi said. “I am excited to wear the jersey and look forward to contributing to the team. Knowing some of the current players will help me settle in quickly and focus on the task ahead.”
This news comes after Antwi hinted at a potential move to Kotoko in a recent interview, suggesting his preference for the Porcupine Warriors.
Last season with Great Olympics, Antwi made 26 appearances, 6 goals, and 5 assists. Although his efforts couldn’t prevent Olympics’ relegation, his performances attracted interest from several clubs, with Kotoko ultimately securing his signature.
The attacking midfielder becomes Kotoko’s third signing of the transfer window as the club aim for a comprehensive squad rebuild for the upcoming season after parting ways with 21 players.
