Kotoko losing Amoah and Kotei at this stage is a major blow -Prosper Ogum
Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Nartey Ogum has expressed his disappointment following the loss of top striker Albert Amoah and right-back Emmanuel Kotei to injuries. The setbacks come at a critical point in the season, leaving the Porcupines without two key players.

Albert Amoah, the team’s leading scorer, will be sidelined for at least two months due to an anterior talofibular ligament injury, while reports suggest that Kotei could miss the remainder of the season.

Coach Ogum confirmed the updates, saying, “It’s unpleasant news losing both Amoah and Kotei at this busy stage of the season. I initially had chills when it happened during the game because Albert is naturally a strong boy, but the shout he made during the impact left me worried. Injuries are part of the game, though, and we can only hope he recovers quickly, as he has shown with his previous injury.”

The double blow is a major setback for Kotoko, but the current form of Kwame Poku and the addition of new signing Sampson Eduku could play a crucial role in keeping their title hopes alive.

Asante Kotoko are currently 6th on the Ghana Premier League table with 28 points from 16 games. They are set to face Vision FC on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the Baba Yara Stadium
