Black Stars winger Joseph Paintsil marked his second appearance for LA Galaxy with a goal, leading his team to a 3-1 victory over the San José Earthquakes.

Paintsil struck in the 18th minute, delivering a left-footed strike that found the far left corner of the net, leaving San José goalkeeper Daniel De Sousa Britto with no chance.

This goal marked Paintsil’s second significant contribution in two games since joining LA Galaxy from KRC Genk.

Dejan Joveljic extended LA Galaxy’s lead in the 43rd minute with a clinical finish from just outside the six-yard box, capitalising on a well-executed counter-attack initiated by Paintsil. In the 48th minute, as Joveljic turned provider, setting up Riqui Puig for Galaxy’s third goal.

Former Galaxy player Preston Judd pulled one back for San José in the 69th minute, but it wasn’t enough to derail LA Galaxy’s impressive performance.

Joseph Paintsil had already made a significant impact in his debut, playing a crucial role in winning a penalty that was successfully converted by Joveljic in their previous 1-1 draw against Inter Miami.

As LA Galaxy continues to gel as a team, Paintsil’s seamless integration and goal-scoring ability provide a promising outlook for the club.

Currently sitting in second place in the Western Conference of Major League Soccer with four points, LA Galaxy will look to build on their positive start when they face Nashville on Sunday, March 10.

The Ghanaian forward’s immediate impact has fans eagerly anticipating more thrilling performances in the upcoming fixtures.
