Paintsil struck in the 18th minute, delivering a left-footed strike that found the far left corner of the net, leaving San José goalkeeper Daniel De Sousa Britto with no chance.

This goal marked Paintsil’s second significant contribution in two games since joining LA Galaxy from KRC Genk.
