Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the life patron of Asante Kotoko, has called upon the players to take ownership of their recent poor form and endeavor to reverse the tide, aiming to spark a transformation in the club’s disappointing season.

With just seven games remaining in the Ghana Premier League, Otumfuo has challenged the team to elevate their performance and restore the club’s pride.

Asante Kotoko has endured a difficult season, failing to secure a win in their last seven matches and currently languishing in 11th position in the league standings.

Recognising the gravity of the situation, the players and technical team engaged in discussions with Otumfuo to address the underlying issues contributing to their poor form.

During the meeting, Otumfuo emphasized his unwavering support for the team and reminded them of their responsibility to uphold the club’s esteemed legacy. He urged the players to set aside any differences and unite in their pursuit of success, reaffirming his commitment to their cause.

“I am expecting something better from you,” Otumfuo declared, challenging the players to demonstrate their capabilities on the field.

“I am expecting something better from you,” Said by the King as quoted in a club statement.

“Prove to me that you are capable and if the coach is the problem, then i will take a decision on him. But for now, make sure you go and play and win.”

With a crucial match against league leaders FC Samartex looming, Asante Kotoko has been charged with delivering a winning performance. A victory in this fixture would not only boost morale but also propel the team up the league table as they strive to salvage a respectable position.
