Life Patron and owner of Asante Kotoko Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has warned to get rid of coach Prosper Narteh Ogum if it becomes evident he is the main problem to the club’s recent struggles.

The team is currently enduring a torrid period in the Ghana period where they have struggled to win a single match in their last seven games.

This disastrous form has left Kotoko in the 11th position and with eight matches to end the season, fans are worried about the club’s status.

The king initiated dialogues with both the players and technical staff to identify the root causes of their recent poor performances. Their meeting on Thursday was also to provide a platform for addressing any grievances they may have.

He made it clear that every member of the team ultimately serves him and not any individual, emphasising the need for unity and collective effort to uplift the team. Under his leadership, he affirmed his commitment to ensuring the team’s success and would not tolerate any decline in performance.

“I am expecting something better from you,” The King said.

“Prove to me that you are capable and if the coach is the problem, then i will take a decision on him. But for now, make sure you go and play and win.”

The meeting between the king and stakeholders followed a rather chaotic situation where some displeased fans disrupted the team’s training session demanding the resignation or dismissal of Prosper Narteh Ogum, the coach.

However, Otumfuo has backed the coach to continue with the hope of a turnaround.

Looking ahead, the Porcupine Warriors will face league leaders FC Samartex on Sunday, April 21, 2024, in matchday 27 at the Baba Yara Stadium.
