I was ready for West Ham challenge, says Mohammed Kudus

Mohammed Kudus has revealed that he felt ready for the challenge at West Ham, which is why he decided to join the Hammers.

In August 2023, Mohammed Kudus signed a five-year contract with West Ham for an undisclosed fee from Ajax.

Known for his prolific dribbling and ability to both create and score goals, Kudus had established himself as one of European football’s most sought-after young talents during his time in Amsterdam.

Despite numerous clubs vying for the Ghana international’s signature, Kudus chose to join the London-based club even though he had limited knowledge of the Premier League and its challenges.

“Personally before I even took the step I knew I was ready for the challenge that’s why I went for it,” he said.

“Once I was ready I knew what I expected from myself,” he said.

Kudus also expressed gratitude towards his teammates and everyone at the club who helped him feel comfortable, and he is now looking forward to the 2024/2025 season.

“Big ups to all the teammates and the people around my club, they really helped me to settle in as well.”

“I also put in the effort day in and day out every single time. It’s a lot of games, tough games, it’s a difficult league but I still believe that I’m far from my abilities. It’s just the beginning and it was good to announce myself in the first season and we know it’s going to get much tougher now so I’m prepared for it as well,” he added.

Despite his focus on preparation for the new season under new West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui, Mohammed Kudus is on the radar of several clubs who are making efforts to snatch him from the Hammers.
