Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku has shared his thoughts on his tenure in charge of the Association.
Elected in 2019, Okraku succeeded Kwesi Nyantakyi, taking over a football association in turmoil following the Anas Aremeyaw Anas Number 12 exposé.
Despite widespread criticism and public backlash, particularly after Ghana’s failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time since 2004, Okraku remains committed to reforming and elevating Ghanaian football.
With his second term nearing its end, Okraku emphasized his desire to be remembered for his honesty, both on and off the pitch.
“I continually speak about the fact that I want to be remembered for my honesty… I want the football family to remember me for what I say and what I’ve done.
Not only to football but to the football family. I want the football family to remember me for what I say and for what I’ve done. I want people to remember what I say and what I have done. And at all times, i want to do exactly what I have said i will do,” Kurt via GFA media.
Okraku’s recent appointment as 2nd Vice President of CAF has given him a new platform to contribute to the development of African football.
He hopes to leverage this role to drive positive change and elevate the standards of the continent’s football.
