Manchester City defender Josko Gvardiol has named Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus as the toughest player he faced in the Premier League last season.
Mohammed Kudus enjoyed a stellar debut season in the Premier League when he joined the Hammers from Ajax in the summer of 2023 racking up 14 goal contributions: 8 goals and 6 assists in 33 appearances.
The West Ham forward also completed the most dribbles in the 2023/24 season making him one of the best players in the league last season.
Gvardiol just like Mohammed Kudus debuted in the Premier League in the 2023/24 season winning the league title as Pep Guardiola led Manchester City to a fourth consecutive triumph.
Talking about his debut season in an interview, The Croatia international revealed how he suffered against the West Ham star.
“If we talk about a player, then I would like to say last season was Kudus. I remember the first game he was on the bench so he came in for the last fifteen or twenty minutes, he was playing my side so I already was like aah! he’s good; he looks sharp and he’s good on the ball.

“In the second game of the season, he even scored a bicycle kick. He was the one I struggled the most to play against,” he said.
The former RB Leipzig centre-back also backed the 24-year-old ball juggler to shine further in the current season for the Hammers.
“I think he is the one who deserves attention, and I believe this season he’s going to come out and show his quality,” further stated.
Both players came up against each other again in matchday three of the 2024/25 Premier League season where City beat West Ham by 3 goals to 1 thanks to an Erling Haaland hat-trick.
