Hearts of Oak endured another setback as they fell to a 2-0 loss against Legon Cities on Saturday afternoon at the Theatre of Dreams in Dawu in the Ghana Premier League.

After securing a comeback victory against Karela United last week to end a three-game losing streak, the Phobians were keen to continue their positive momentum against Legon Cities. However, the home side put on an impressive display to secure all three points.

The match began with both teams displaying determination, but neither could find a breakthrough in the first half.

However, Legon Cities emerged firing after halftime, with Albert Yeboah scoring in the 50th minute and adding another goal just 11 minutes later.

The defeat sees Hearts of Oak drop to 10th place in the table, while Legon Cities climb to 11th position.

For Legon Cities, the victory comes as a relief following a draw with Samartex and a loss to Medeama SC. They will aim to maintain their newfound momentum when they take on Berekum Chelsea in their next fixture.

Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak will look to bounce back when they face Accra Lions in their next home match.

In another Saturday fixture, Karela United and Accra Lions played out a thrilling 1-1 draw, with Dominic Amponsah giving Lions the lead before Mohammed Asigre equalized for Karela United.
