Ghanaians have taken to social media to share their opinions regarding Kwesi Nyantakyi’s decision to pursue political office in the upcoming by-elections.

Many are surprised by his aspirations given his tarnished reputation as a ‘corrupt leader’ during his tenure as the Ghana Football Association (GFA) boss.

After being implicated in corrupt practices revealed by TigerEye PI’s 2018 expose, Nyantakyi stepped down from all football-related positions.

Despite his past, Nyantakyi has declared his candidacy for the vacant seat in the Ejisu constituency following the passing of incumbent John Kumah. He aims to not only represent the people but also to enhance grassroots sports and contribute to football’s success in the nation.

In an interview with Captain Smart on the Onua Maakye show, Nyantakyi outlined his future plans, emphasizing his dedication to community development and grassroots sports as pivotal for progress.

The major talking point however for many was when Nyantakyi opened up on paying $100,000 to Anas to take down the documentary that led to him being exposed, and many were shocked at his desire to still go for more after that decision.

All in all, Ghanaians were not too satisfied with his intention to delve into the political space and a probable inclusion in administrative duties.

However, Nyantakyi looks focused, and time will tell as to whether his intentions become a reality or not.
