Carlos Tevez has been hospitalised in Buenos Aires after experiencing chest pains.

The 40-year-old former Argentina striker was admitted to Trinidad Hospital in San Isidro on Tuesday, where he will remain until medical tests are concluded.

Tevez, renowned for his stints with Manchester United, Manchester City, and West Ham United, currently serves as the head coach of Argentine top-flight club Independiente.

The club released a statement confirming Tevez’s hospitalisation, noting that his initial tests were “satisfactory.”

However, as a precautionary measure, he will continue to receive medical care at the hospital.

Having earned 76 caps for Argentina between 2004 and 2015, Tevez transitioned into coaching, taking charge of Independiente in August 2023.

He briefly managed Rosario Central after retiring as a player in June 2022, concluding his illustrious playing career with Boca Juniors.

During his time in the Premier League from 2006 to 2013, Tevez made 201 appearances and scored 84 goals.

He achieved considerable success, winning the Premier League title twice with Manchester United (2007-08 and 2008-09) and once with Manchester City (2011-12).
