Following their recent performances in the March international break, the Ghana national football team, the Black Stars, has experienced a drop in the latest FIFA World Rankings.

During last month’s break, the Black Stars faced the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Cranes of Uganda. Despite a spirited effort, Ghana suffered a 2-1 defeat to Nigeria and managed a 2-2 draw against Uganda.

As a result of these outcomes, Ghana, previously ranked 67th in the world, has now slipped to the 68th position in the rankings.

Despite this decline, Ghana maintains its position in the African rankings as the Black Stars occupy the 14th spot.

Notably, the top 15 teams in Africa remain unchanged, with Senegal, Nigeria, and Morocco maintaining their positions as the top three teams on the continent.

Meanwhile, in the global rankings, Belgium has overtaken England to claim the third position, while Portugal has surpassed the Netherlands to secure the sixth spot.

The Black Stars will be looking to improve their ranking in the upcoming matches as they aim to bounce back from their recent setbacks and climb up the FIFA rankings ladder.

Their next task will be against Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
