Ghana’s U17 national team, the Black Starlets, delivered a stunning 5-1 victory over Serbia in their second fixture at the UEFA U16 international tournament on Friday.
After a disappointing loss to host nation Russia in their opening game, where they suffered a 3-1 defeat, the young Ghanaian squad came into the match against Serbia with a renewed sense of purpose.
The West Africans wasted no time asserting their dominance as Abdula Nortey opened the scoring in the 15th minute, setting the tone for the match.
Benjamin Hanson extended Ghana’s lead with a confidently taken penalty just before halftime, ensuring Ghana went into the break with a comfortable advantage.

Although Serbia managed to pull one back with a consolation goal from Stulic in the 68th minute, it was not enough to dampen Ghana’s dominant performance.
