Black Queens bonus saga resolved ahead of crucial Olympic qualifier

Black Queens players were visited by top officials ahead of Zambia clash

Ghana’s Black Queens have received their outstanding bonuses ahead of their crucial Olympic Games qualifier against Zambia.

The players had been owed $7500 each and had threatened to boycott the match if their demands weren’t met.

However, following a meeting between the players, GFA President Kurt Okraku, Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif, and other top officials, it was agreed that the bonuses would be paid before the game.

The players have now received their payments, and the team is poised to take on Zambia in the first leg of the qualifier on Friday.

The Black Queens come into this game in strong form, having lost just once in their last 11 matches, with 10 victories.

However, the Zambian team cannot be underestimated, as they have featured in the last World Cup and boast of the world’s most expensive player, Racheal Kundananji.

The first leg of the qualifier will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium, and fans can attend for free. The second leg is scheduled to take place in Lusaka five days later.

The winner of this tie will advance to the final qualifying round, where they will face either Morocco or Tunisia.

Black Queens are determined to make history by qualifying for the Olympics for the first time ever, and they will need to put up a strong performance against Zambia to achieve this goal.

With the bonus issue now resolved, the team can focus on the task at hand and give their best effort in the qualifiers.
