Black Leopards confirm Maxwell Konadu as new coach

Ghanaian coach Maxwell Konadu has joined South African club Black Leopards, signing a three-year contract.
Konadu makes the move from Nsoatreman FC, where he recently achieved success by winning the club’s first-ever FA Cup and securing a qualification spot in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Black Leopards chairman Tshifhiwa Thidiela confirmed the agreement, highlighting Konadu’s experience and achievements.
“We’ve reached an agreement with Maxwell Konadu,” Thidiela said. “He’s a proven coach, leading his previous club to a fourth-place finish and the FA Cup title.”
While reports suggest Nsoatreman are seeking a compensation fee due to a remaining year on Konadu’s contract, an official announcement from Black Leopards is expected soon.
Thidiela expressed confidence in Konadu’s ability to lead the team to their primary objective: promotion back to the South African top flight.
Konadu’s impressive background, including coaching Ghana’s youth teams and serving as assistant coach for the Black Stars, is seen as a valuable asset for Black Leopards.
Thidiela also revealed some details about Konadu’s potential staff, with some key positions already filled and Konadu having the freedom to bring in two additional members.
