Berekum Chelsea are on the verge of appointing former Great Olympic trainer Annor Walker as their new head coach, following the resignation of Christopher Ennin.

Ennin, who left the club after feeling frustrated, is expected to take up a new role as assistant coach of Hearts of Oak.

Walker, who has previously coached the Black Galaxies and Samartex, has confirmed that he has held talks with Berekum Chelsea and a move to the club is imminent.

Speaking to Footballghana.com, Walker said, “It’s true. I have had talks with Berekum Chelsea and a move to the club is imminent. An agreement has been reached between us, and I’m just waiting for confirmation from them.”

Walker’s appointment would bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the Berekum-based club, which is currently struggling with inconsistency.

They are currently placed sixth on the Ghana Premier League table with 27 points after 18 matches.

Chelsea hope that Walker’s leadership will help them improve their performance in the second half of the campaign.

Although the deal is yet to be officially confirmed by Berekum Chelsea, sources close to the club indicate that an announcement is likely to be made soon.

Once confirmed, Walker will take over as the new head coach of Berekum Chelsea and is expected to bring stability and success to the club.
