Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum expressed his delight after securing a double victory over Hearts of Oak this season emphasising the significance of this achievement for his players
The team secured a 2-0 win on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi having already won the reverse fixture 3-2 during the first round of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season.
The Porcupine Warriors demonstrated their strength and tactical superiority, with top scorer Steven Mukwala playing a pivotal role. The Ugandan international netted a brace with two impressive finishes, helping Kotoko to triumph over their rivals.

“Very happy, beating hearts of oak back to back is not an easy job l. So I am happy. I think it’s an honour for this group of players. It’s been a while since this thing happened. We are all happy. You could see when the final whistle was blown. Steve [Mukwala] made it so beautiful,” he said.
Kotoko now lie in ninth place on the league log. Five points off the top four with three matches left to the end of the season, and although attaining that finish looks unlikely, their fans will be pleased to have bragging rights over their fiercest rivals.
