2024/25 GPL: Medeama break into top four after victory over Vision FC

Medeama SC have climbed into the top four of the Ghana Premier League following a 3-1 victory over Vision FC on Friday night at the Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium.

The home side got off to a flying start, opening the scoring just two minutes in through forward Kingsley Braye. But Vision FC responded almost immediately, with Daniel Yemoh finding the net in the 5th minute to level the match in a frantic opening spell.

Despite Medeama dominating possession and creating multiple chances, Vision’s defence stood firm to keep the score level heading into the break.

After halftime, the hosts came out with greater urgency. Defender Kamaradini Mamudu, who bagged a brace last weekend against Young Apostles, restored Medeama’s lead in the 52nd minute with a composed finish.

As Vision chased another equalizer, they left spaces at the back, and Medeama made them pay. Substitute Abdul Salam put the game beyond doubt in the 85th minute with a well-worked team goal.

The win, Medeama’s second consecutive triumph, has seen them score six and concede just one in their last two matches.

They now sit 3rd on the table with growing momentum as the season draws to a close.

Vision FC, still adjusting to top-flight football in their debut season, remain 14th with 33 points from 30 matches and must finish strong to avoid relegation.
