Christian Atsu remembered one year after tragic death

One year has passed since the tragic death of Ghanaian footballer Christian Atsu who died in the horrific earthquake that hit Turkey on 6th February 2023.
Atsu was among those caught up in the massive earthquake which killed thousands, a tragedy that shocked and saddened many.
Atsu was initially reported missing, triggering a thorough search effort. Sadly, his lifeless body was ultimately discovered beneath a pile of debris.
The world of football was thrown into mourning on receiving news about his demise; this saw many football stars paying their homage.
He was renowned for his excellent performance in the field by scoring important goals for club and country too.
Nevertheless, it was away from playing fields where he showed great character through a kind heart and giving nature.
Through charity events, Atsu made significant changes using his standing in society as an upper hand to better the community.
Ghana Black Stars, Newcastle United and Chelsea led the paid tribute through social media as well as commemorated him.
They featured pictures of him while playing along with celebrating the life and accomplishments of Atsu.
One year ago we sadly lost Christian Atsu in the most tragic of circumstances.
