Medeama SC captain Kwasi Donsu has stated that the team would be ready for the CAF Champions League preliminary round match against Remo Stars of Nigeria.

The Ghanaian club was drawn to play the Nigerian side in the first round of qualifiers for the group stage of the top-tier CAF inter-club competition on Tuesday.

The midfielder emphasised that the Yellow and Mauves do not fear the opposition and believe they will work hard to prepare for the two-legged encounter.

“Finally, we have known the opponents we are going to face in the CAF champions league. In Football, if you want to be a champion you don’t have to fear your opponents.

“The most important thing is that we are going to work hard and sail through to the next stage,” Kwasi Donsu told Kessben TV.

Medeama SC are representing Ghana in Africa as Champions of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season and are hoping to dwell on their past experience in the CAF Confederations Cup for a better result.

In 2016, they reached the group stages after beating South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns but failed to advance beyond that level.

The Tarkwa-based side will welcome the Remo Stars in the first leg at the Cape Coast Stadium between 18th to 20th August and travel to Nigeria the following week for the second leg.
