Ghana’s hopes of having a boxer represent the country at the Paris Olympic Games this year have been dashed, as Theophilus Kpakpo Allotey lost in the quarterfinals of the qualifying tournament to Inkyu Kim of South Korea in Italy.

Despite winning two fights, Allotey’s performance was not enough to earn him a spot at the Olympics.

The Black Bombers, a team of seven boxers, travelled to Italy after failing to qualify in Dakar last year.

Unfortunately, the team’s efforts were unsuccessful, and they did not manage to book a place at the Olympic Games.

However, there is still a glimmer of hope for the Black Bombers, as they have another opportunity to qualify in May during the final qualification round in Bangkok, Thailand.

It remains to be seen whether they can make the most of this chance and bring glory to Ghana in the ring.
