Diego Simeone has signed a contract extension with Atletico Madrid, committing himself to the club until June 2027.

The Argentine manager has enjoyed great success during his time at the helm, leading the team to eight trophies and becoming the club’s most successful manager.

Under Simeone’s guidance, Atletico have won La Liga twice, in 2014 and 2021, as well as the Europa League in 2012 and 2018. They have also lifted the Copa del Rey in 2013. In addition, the team have finished as Champions League runners-up twice, in 2014 and 2016.

Currently, Atletico are sitting in fourth place in the Spanish top flight, and they are top of their Champions League group with two games remaining.

This season, Simeone’s men have impressed with their solid defence and clinical attack, and they look well-equipped to challenge for major silverware once again.

Simeone’s contract extension is a testament to his exceptional leadership and tactical acumen, and it ensures that he will continue to be at the helm of one of Spain’s biggest clubs for years to come.
