Ghana’s Rose Yeboah books Olympic ticket in high jump

When Rose Amoanimaa Yeboah scaled the bar at 1.91m at the African Games, the Legon Stadium let out a huge roar.

She had won gold, bettered what she did to win gold at the African Games in Rabat in 2019 and had made everyone incredibly excited but there was something still missing – the only blemish on what would’ve been a brilliant day for her – a place to compete at the Olympic Games in Paris.

Three months after that historic gold medal win in front of a home crowd, she has qualified for the Olympic Games at the NCAA Games in the United States of America.

On Saturday, Rose Yeboah scaled the Olympic Standard height of 1.97m to qualify for the Olympic Games in grand style. It was a crowning moment that further entrenched her name as the leader of the sport in Ghana. Her year keeps getting better and better.

Along with her Olympic ticket, Yeboah broke a long-standing NCAA high jump record with her jump.

With a place at the Olympic Games wrapped up, Yeboah will be looking to finish the college outdoor season on a high before she jets to the French Capital to write another chapter of her amazing story.
