Ghanaian champions Ampem Darkoa Ladies have been named as a finalist for the Women’s Club of the Year award at the upcoming 2023 CAF Awards.

They had an impressive performance at the CAF Women’s Champions League, finishing fourth in their debut appearance. They will now compete with other top teams, including African champions Mamelodi Sundowns, for the prestigious award.

Other nominees for the Women’s Club of the Year include AS FAR and Sporting Club Casablanca from Morocco, and JTK Queens from Tanzania. The winner will be announced at the awards ceremony taking place on December 11th at the Palais des Congrès, Movenpick in Marrakech, Morocco.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies had a successful season, winning the Women’s Ghana Premier League and FA Cup, as well as being crowned champions of WAFU Zone B.

However, their coach, Nana Joe Adarkwa, did not make the final shortlist for the Women’s Coach of the Year award. Additionally, Ghana’s senior female team, Black Queens were not selected for the Women’s Team of the Year shortlist.
