Emmanuel Ayemang-Badu made his unofficial debut for Great Olympics after signing a one-year contract with the capital club.

The former Ghana international has joined Olympics on a free transfer seven months after leaving Chinese club Qingdao F.C.

Ayemang-Badu made his debut for Great Olympics against Bechem United in the first game of the GHALCA G6 tournament on Wednesday.

The game ended in a stalemate, with Bechem United winning the penalty shootout 5-4.

The 31-year-old performed admirably at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The midfielder has had a difficult year, but he is determined to regain his former form. He is looking forward to the upcoming season, in which he hopes to play an important role for Great Olympics.

Agyeamang-Badu has played for Asante Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea, Udinese, Bursaspor, and Hellas Verona in the past.

The Seikwa native announced his retirement from international football in 2020 after scoring 11 goals in 78 appearances for Ghana. The U-20 World Cup champion from 2009 represented the Black Stars in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

In 2019, Agyemang-Badu was admitted to a hospital in Italy due to blood clots in his lungs.
