Afcon Qualifiers: Ghanaian referees take charge of Cape Verde vs Eswatini

Ghanaian referee Charles Bulu has been selected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to officiate the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifying match between Cape Verde and Eswatini.

The match will take place at the Santiago Estadio Nacional in Praia, the capital of Cape Verde. It is scheduled to begin at 4 pm on Friday, March 24, 2023.

Bulu will be assisted on the touchlines by compatriots Paul Kojo Atimaka and Tijani Mohammed, with Abdul Latif Qadiri serving as the fourth official.

This game is critical in Group B of the qualifiers, as Cape Verde currently sits in second place with three points, behind Burkina Faso, who have won all six of their games. Eswatini have only one point after two games.

With his wealth of experience, Bulu has overseen numerous matches both locally and internationally, and his appointment is expected to ensure impartial officiating in what promises to be a highly contested game.

Guinea Bissau’s Gregorio Bodupe will be the match commissioner, and Lemgaifry Bouchaab will be the referee assessor.
