Kwesi Appiah head coach of the senior national team, the Black Stars has handed starting roles to Andy Yiadom and Thomas Agyapong as the team takes on Benin in a Group F game at the Ismailia Stadium in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

Missing in the lineup to face Benin is the Inter Milan star and vice-captain of the side Kwadwo Asamoah who was expected to play in a midfield role. Black Stars immediate past captain, Asamoah Gyan will also start the tournament from the bench on Tuesday evening.

According to reports gathered by the GNA Sports, Richard Ofori would retain his position in post with Yiadom, Lumor Agbenyanu, John Boye and Kassim Nuhu playing in defence.

In midfield would be a pair of Mubarak Wakasu, Thomas Partey, Christian Atsu, Agyapong and Andre Ayew.

Jordan Ayew would be the arrow head striker for the team as they seek for their first three points in the competition.
