Speaker of Parliament Edward Doe Adjaho says he has received several messages from well-meaning Ghanaians, who have expressed disgust at the conduct of Members of Parliament (MPs).

He said he has felt sorry for some of the statements made about MPs.

A former MP himself, Mr Adjaho has, therefore, charged members to put up parliamentary behavior in order attract respect deserving of their positions and “not to let me say things that I should not say”.

Mr Adjaho made these remarks on the floor of Parliament on Thursday while deliberations on the state-of-the-nation address continue.

He complained some members screamed for no particular reason while others blatantly dismissed others’ contributions as lies.

“I am not going to tolerate certain behavior,” he warned.

He said both sides of the House are guilty of his accusations.
