Burkinabe striker Songne Yacouba struck it late for Asante Kotoko to rescue a point in their penultimate Group C match in the CAF Confederation Cup.
A win for Kotoko would have qualified them for the knockout stage of the second-tier club competition on the continent as Nkana FC had beaten ZESCO United 3-0 earlier in the day.
Waleed Hamid scored the opener for the Sudanese at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to silence the vociferous home fans.
The goal was scored in the first half.
The Porcupine Warriors proved their resilience and stopped what was going to be their first home loss in the campaign with four minutes to go. Songne clinched the equaliser.
The draw keeps the Ghanaians in contention though behind Zambia’s Nkana FC and Sudan’s Al-Hilal.
ZESCO United, whom Kotoko will face next Sunday, stand eliminated.
