Sierra Leone has been crowned the winner of the 2023 edition of the African Jollof War Festival.
The second edition of the Jollof War at the 3FM Afro Connect Festival held on the 21 September 2023 at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Center in Accra was a fierce battle for supremacy and the bragging right as the country with the most tantalizing Jollof Rice in Africa.
Team Sierra Leone with their lead Chef Amanda Wuya Tyvesse used their unique recipes and culinary prowess to beat the previous winner, Côte d'Ivoire and seven other African countries to emerge as the undisputed winners of the contest.
3FM Afro Connect and Jollof War is an annual Pan African event organized by 3FM 92.7 MHz with support from TV 3 to rally all Africans living in Ghana to socialize, network and celebrate their various unique cultures.
Gambia and Nigeria took the 2nd and 3rd positions respectively. The other participating countries in the Jollof War were Mali, Senegal, Niger, Liberia and Ghana.
