Photos and videos confirm that the royal burial rites of the late Tema chief, Osonnaa Nii Adjei Kraku II, began on Wednesday, October 26.
Residents in Tema in the Greater Accra Region were advised to stay indoors as the sacred funeral rites are being performed to bid the late chief farewell.

The blackout was from 7:00 pm to 12:00 am as part of a Ga custom to honour dead chiefs. Locals were strongly cautioned to observe the traditional custom to avoid mishaps as they bury their royal one.

This blackout affected state and private institutions as they had to manage their schedules to keep employees safe.
