Radio Presenter Blakk Rasta has taken a swipe at the seemingly weird Guinness World Records attempt by Ghanaians.
Recently, a number of Ghanaians have announced their attempt to break the Guinness World Record in different fields. Some of the marathons attempted include; Sing-a-thon, Cook-a-thon, Speech-a-thon, Gum-a-thon and others.
While the official confirmation for some of the record attempts has not yet been declared by the Guinness World Records, some Ghanaians are still motivated to embark on marathons and record attempts.

Speaking in an interview on TV3, the musician said he does not support the record attempts by Ghanaians because they are “suicide attempts” particularly in instances were there are not enough rest.
He asserted although persons who attempt the record may survive, they should not be “applauded for others to follow such foolishness.”
“A lot of them are nothing but suicide missions and I won’t support any such thing like somebody is going to cook for so many hours and will lose sleep for many hours. Scientifically when you lose sleep for several days you are on your way to suicide bombing. Maybe I’m too old to understand some of these gimmicks but it’s crazy for me,” he said on Tuesday, February 20.

The enthusiasm and urge to break Guinness World Records (GWR) begun after Afua Asantewaa embarked on a five-day sing-a-thon attempt of which she is yet to receive an official confirmation from GWR.
Following her attempt was Chef Failatu Abdul-Razak who also embarked on a 227 hours cook-a-thon at the Tamale stadium which gained the attention of many Ghanaian personalities. She is also yet to be officially confirmed as the record holder.
A number of other record attempts have come up including the ongoing cook-a-thon by Chef Ebenezer Smith and a carwash-a-thon slated for March 9.
