Patapaa’s management cautions public against defamatory remarks; threatens legal action

The management of Ghanaian musician, Patapaa has cautioned the general public against unsavoury remarks towards their artiste, threatening legal action against individuals who do so.

In a statement released by the management, the team expressed concern over what it described as a growing pattern of disparaging remarks directed towards Patapaa both in public and private.

“Management will pursue legal action against anyone who continues to defame Patapaa,” the statement reads.

The notice highlighted the harm being done to the artiste’s brand, which rose to national and international prominence following the viral success of his 2017 hit song, ‘One Corner’.

The management team stated that the persistent attacks are undermining Patapaa’s image and reputation.

“It has become common practice for individuals… to speak negatively about our artist both privately and publicly,” the statement further indicates.

The document, signed by Patapaa’s manager, Abdul M. Abass, stresses the seriousness of the matter and called on the public to refrain from defamatory comments.

The caution by Patapaa’s management follows a viral video showing Patapaa dancing at the funeral of fellow artiste Kwaw Kese’s late mother, Madam Yaa Serwaa held on Saturday, May 31.

In multiple clips circulating online, the One Corner hitmaker is seen delivering a performance at the funeral grounds, dancing and entertaining mourners with some of his signature songs and moves.

Patapaa’s dance moves drew negative responses from some individuals who mocked him while referring to a lyrical jab by Sarkodie in 2018.
